E komo mai! Welcome to Hawaii's FIRST and BIGGEST organized weight pulling competition here in the state of Hawaii as well as the start of the bully epidemic in Hawaii
In 1995, Ken Carvalho first introduced Hawaii to the sport of dog weight pulling. Through word of mouth, Hawaii's Strongest Dog's owner, Patrick Augustus, discovered practices and demonstrations at Kapiolani Park. By networking with Ben Chun , Stan Jacinto, and Frank Rocca, the sport inaugurated in 1996 its first weight pulling competition and confirmation show. The show was later featured on the Hawaiian Moving Company. Ken Carvalho later stepped out of the dog scene, and handed the track and weights to Patrick to continue the sport. Through the years, Hawaii's Strongest Dog held their competitions in backyards and open lots. It was not until March 2006 Strongest Dog achieved another level by putting on an organized event in collaboration with Platinum Kennels, Kamu Lau, and Stan Dickson. The initial event started with twelve dogs, but at our next competition we had forty dogs entering our weight pull competition and sixty dogs competiting in our fun bully show. It was soon followed with more dogs participating in the upcoming competitions. Hawaii's Strongest Dog has expanded and is being represented on our outer islands by: Tyrone Ferreira, TNT Pits - Kona, Hawaii Patrick Kaaihue, Big Dawg Pits - Kona, Hawaii Becky Rivera, Bully Boss Kennels, Kauai, Hawaii We have also colaborated with Hawaii's finest bully shows, Northshore Bluepits Kennel, Ultimate Hawaiian Island Bullies Show- Haleiwa, Oahu , Garden Isle Bully Show - Puhi, Kauai, Big Dawg Pits, ABKC Bully Super Show - Hoonaunau, Hawaii, Hawaii Big Boys Big Toys Show - Honolulu, Oahu, .
